SEPTEMBER Newsletter - Artfully Aware
KEEPING KIDS A PART OF THE CURE
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a time for collectively remembering children that have passed, standing with families facing childhood cancer today, and rededicating ourselves to combating this terrible illness.

While much remains to be done, we’ve come far in the fight to understand, treat, and control pediatric cancer. Here at home, Women’s & Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program is leading the charge against childhood cancer with specialized care for Acadiana’s kids.

Led by Dr. Ammar Morad, the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program adheres to all nationally recognized standards and protocols for the treatment of childhood cancer, and boasts a 95 percent success rate. They’ve recently expanded the services to include, “Beads of Courage” and “Monkey In My Chair,” each designed to help our pediatric patients and their families and friends cope with and understand chronic illness.

Recently, Right Angle worked with the program’s child life specialist, Janie Eldridge, and some of the patients to create a look for their Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Report and other promotional materials. We used actual artwork from the patients in the design, and wrote stories around the new services. It’s truly a piece that speaks volumes.

We look forward to celebrating Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month by continuing our support of this program and all of the lives that it saves.

A WELL-OILED MACHINE
Every well owner or E&P company utilizing a workover rig fears two things: on-the-job injuries and downtime. Oilfield Innovators Limited, LLC, (OIL) is a Lafayette-based tubular handling company that uses its own custom devices and processes to erase both fears.

Recently, OIL underwent a rebranding effort, facilitated by Right Angle. The system included a logo update, brochure, and website re-design, among other pieces. The idea behind the rebrand was to distill OIL’s identity as the premier well-site pipe handlers under the tagline “Let us handle it for you.”

Through hard work and ingenuity, OIL is quickly becoming one of Acadiana’s leading innovators.
Susan G. Komen Acadiana - Race for the Cure
MORE THAN A RUN, IT'S A MOVEMENT
In March of this year, Right Angle participated in the 2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This annual 5K is the flagship event for Komen in its global mission to end breast cancer.

Prior to the race, we produced promotional and sponsorship materials that were widely circulated around Acadiana. This year, we’re continuing our support of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure through marketing efforts and our own sweat on race day, March 16, 2013.

We’ve recently come to understand that the foundation is more than just a one-day 5K; it’s a movement with a mission to end cancer. With this in mind, we’re hoping to reach as many individuals as possible with the call to action: register, raise funds, run. For more information on this year’s efforts, please visit komenacadiana.org and save the date October 1, 2012 to begin open registration.
