Lafayette's New Logo Wins International Design Award

Local full-service creative advertising agency, Right Angle, was recently honored with three Summit Creative Awards from the Summit International Award (SIA) organization, including an award for their logo redesign for Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Right Angle’s award-winning designs were selected above thousands of submissions from 22 countries by judges from Italy, China, and Australia among others.

"When we unveiled our new logo last fall, we knew it would help present us as a progressive city and parish and I'm pleased to know that international design professionals agree," says City-Parish President Joey Durel.

Right Angle was also presented with Summit Creative Awards for vehicle graphics created for the Lafayette Transit System’s compressed natural gas buses and a logo created for Hydro-Blade Waterjets, an industrial cutting service.

“We are honored and proud to know that our designs made an impression on an international panel of judges,” says Cheryl Taylor Bowie, owner/president of Right Angle. “This isn’t just a win for our team and our clients, but a win for Acadiana.”

In addition to international recognition, these designs have won a number of local awards. At this year’s American Advertising Federation of Acadiana ADDY® Awards, Right Angle was presented with the 2012 People’s Choice Award for Lafayette Transit System’s vehicle graphics, and was also given a Special Judges Award for their Hydro-Blade Waterjets logo.
